Summer Family Photography

I love summer sessions, especially when the sky cooperates.    We made it 5 minutes into this session with Liz, Rebecca and Sophie before stepping in a mud puddle and being rained on.   They were brave (and had umbrellas) – so the rain gave up and went away.   . . . leaving us with this glorious light!
We were entertained with Rebecca’s running commentary and Sophie’s improv dance.   Fun, free-spirited sessions like this are my favourites!

Liz is that wonderful mom who gives individual attention and respect to her daughters (and I see it returned to her).

Sophie, I loved your swing idea!!

I love how these 3 are around each other – free to be themselves.   . . . funny, quirky and connected.

Summer sessions really are different from fall portraits.    They suit some people better.    This summer, I’m offering a special on all children’s photography sessions.   You can see the details here  –>  Children’s summer portraits

  1. Jay, you are the Frank Lloyd Wright of portrait photographers. Your work is in harmony with nature and captures the best in people. Thank-you so much !!!

  2. Sometimes patience is the true mark of a good photographer, as you waited for this ideal break in the sky, providing such ideal, natural studio-like lighting. I’m sure you used a fill flash as well, making for such beautiful images! Well done Jay!

  3. Hey thanks Rob! Good to hear from you. I usually avoid flash for this kind of session . . . I don’t want to distract them from their natural interaction. Did use a reflector on the headshots though!
