Plattsville Family Portraits

14 family members?   …. and 4 are young children?    ….. and a dog?    That’s the kind of session that tempts comtemporary photographers to go old school and do formal posed portraits with everyone gazing into the lens and smiling.  This family of 14 helped me avoid that temptation by just being themselves;  a spirited state of chaotic happiness that immediately made me feel comfortable and welcome.

They were fabulous with the kids, averting 3 or 4 meltdowns with a natural talent, redirecting them to fun activities, distracting them and occasionally, offering a short term bribe.  They kept it very positive and fun for the children.

Here they are;  Jim, Mary Ann, James, Heather, LJ, Khobi, Serena, Francois, Dalen, Chris, Sandra, David, Gillian and Russ.

  4. Jay, I think I’m ALMOST speechless!! YOWZAH!!! When I watched the page load and started a head count of all the people (and dog!) in the photo I thought “oh my, what has Jay gotten himself into THIS time?!?” But CLEARLY you stepped up to this challenge and WOW, did you EVER hit this ball WAY outta the park!! OBViously a fantastic fun family (and dog!) to work with. And the photos brightened my day. You’ve got it, Pontiac–and THEN SOME. Total pro, J-man. KUDOS once again, my friend 🙂

  6. Pictures are one of the most valuable possessions we have. They capture memories, love, character, faith, values, joy and spirit. I love this family and I see so all these and more in their photographs. They will always treasure these. Thank you for sharing them with us and inspiring us through them.
