Here is where we can talk about what styles of portraits appeal to you, details about your session, your style, your interests, and how to capture your personality in images. We’ll discuss clothing choices, brainstorm for ideas together, and become acquainted with each other.

This first meeting is very important; when we know each other better, you’ll be more relaxed and natural in front of my camera and I will find my creative inspiration from learning more about you.

Session planning and preparation

There are no routine sessions for me. I treat every client’s session as if my studio’s success depended on it. Scouting new locations, refining a new lighting technique, searching for more ideas and inspiration. These efforts always result in better images.

The portrait session

Portrait sessions are fun and relaxed. We are never rushed. Even the camera shy and “not photogenic” subjects look relaxed and natural. I have been self-conscious in front of others’ cameras for years. I have learned how to move others beyond that initial discomfort.

You’ll get feedback from me on what’s working well and looking great. When you are having fun and feeling more relaxed, your images will show you as you are and at your best. Your expressions, your body language and your personality. That’s when we get your warm, engaging expressions; when you look: natural, unposed, relaxed, confident, connected, sexy, fun, quirky, in love, playful, creative, …..

You will benefit from professional lighting techniques using soft flattering light to make your skin and eyes look their best.
Slimming techniques, from wardrobe and posture to lighting and camera perspectives are frequently used.

Careful selection and professional enhancement of final images

The best images from your session are selected and each image receives professional magazine quality retouching and colour adjustment. Blemish removal is always included.

Private viewing session

Your 1st viewing of the final images will be in a video slideshow set to music. This is also the ordering session.

One 8×10 print of your favourite image

Session fee now includes a $30 print/digital credit, equivalent to one 8×10 print, including taxes.
